Brown Carmelite Scapular with Card
Brown Carmelite Scapular with Card
Brown Carmelite Scapular with card
The scapular itself is a devotional item belonging to the Carmelite Order.
(The Chinese have produced other brown scapulars which have nothing to do with us).
The brown scapulars have a picture of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and one side and St Simon Stock, who is thought to have been the first English General when the Carmelites arrived in England from the Holy Land in the 1200’s, on the other.
The Brown Scapular continues to hold a privileged place in Marian devotion. This has been re-affirmed since Vatican II
Details on the card:
Prayer To Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Blessed and Immaculate Virgin, splendid beauty of Carmel, you look with love on all who wear your blessed habit; look kindly on me and spread the mantle of your loving protection o5ver all mankind.
By the power of your intercession strengthen my weakness, and by your wisdom light up the darkness of my mind. Increase in me those virtues in which you excelled—faith, hope and love; adorn my soul with such graces and virtues that it may be pleasing to your divine Son.
Assist me in all the activities of life, and, by your presence console me at the time of my death. In that hour present me to the Blessed Trinity as your child redeemed by the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
O Queen, who are the beauty of Carmel, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Delivery & Returns
Goods are usually posted as soon as possible after the order is received. There is no post at the weekends or bank (public) holidays. If there is a problem you will be informed of it. Please be aware that we are often at the mercy of the postal services and delivery agents. They will usually give an expected date but there may be mitigating circumstances like weather problems, strikes etc to delay the delivery. We always get a certificate of posting on overseas goods. This is a free service by the post office and is not insurance. The Royal Mail will not try to trace an item until 15 working days after it has been posted for local mail. For overseas mail, once it has knowingly left the country they have no trace on it as it has now gone into another country’s postal system. It is possible to get tracking but this is an added cost.
Should you be sent the wrong item and the fault is entirely ours we usually do not ask for the item to be returned due to the high costs of postage involved, but we are willing to replace it with the correct item or refund the payment made.
If you decide you do not want the item for any other reason, you are free to cancel the order. If the item has already been sent, we expect it to be returned in the condition it left us, before you receive a refund. You will be expected to pay the return postage.
Problems or complaints
If you need to complain about something you’ve bought, always come back to us and we will do our best to settle the problem or try to trace a missing parcel.
Any customs duties in countries outside the UK are the responsibility of the buyer.

The laws in the UK say that:

- you must get written confirmation of this information after you have made your purchase
- there is usually a ‘cooling-off period’ where you can cancel your order for any reason
- you can get a refund if items aren’t delivered on the agreed delivery date
If no delivery date is given, you can get a refund if items aren’t delivered within 30 days of placing your order.
The usual rules that apply to shopping on the high street also apply to distance selling. So items must be:
- as described
- of satisfactory quality

The cooling-off period and your right to cancel
If you buy something without face-to-face contact, you will usually have a ‘cooling off period’ of seven working days. It lets you can cancel the order for any reason and get your money back.
If you decide to cancel your order within the cooling off period, you must tell the trader in writing.
You don’t have this cancellation right:
- if the item is personalised or made to order
If you have already paid for the items or services, the trader must refund your money within 30 days of you cancelling the agreement.
